Depending on your audience size, it may not be feasible to pay $100 for the license to use one good photo. That’s why more affordable stock photo sites have been popping up left and right.
If you are looking for something more to the tune of “free -99” I have also compiled a Mega List of Free Stock Photo sites for your convenience.
I have organized these from my most used to least used. Just because one stock photo directory may be close to the bottom does not mean you shouldn’t use it, but rather the photos have more limited photo subjects and styles. Who knows, they may have that unique style that you’ve been looking for!

One of my favorites. Unlimited downloads for members. If I cant find the photo I need here, I supplement the options here with some of the images I can find off of free sources.
iClipart.com

Want some “clipart”?
While the word “clipart” will make visual designers across the globe cringe, this site will give you 1 year of unlimited image downloads for $70. Many of options are high quality, but you will have to weed through some cheesy options. The good thing is that this site does have an extensive library of Dover images, which is not as easily accessible in an online format.
Having these vector “clipart” images will not only save you money in the long run, but will help you save time with some pre built design assets.

Beautiful images with a point –based download system (1 pt for web-use 72dpi images up to 6 points for print-ready 300dpi images). Very affordable for visual designers on a budget.
